Born in the southern Brazil town of Erexim on April 11, 1982, Alessandra Ambrosio has firmly established herself as one of the premiere supermodels of the world. A striking beauty, the statuesque brunette (5’10) has been featured in advertising campaigns by Guess?, Calvin Klein, Georgio Armani, Christian Dior, Escada and Victoria’s Secrets to name a few.

Her soulful brown eyes and radiant face has graced the covers of Capricho, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. Her appearance in the modeling world in the later part of the 1990s was heralded by an influx of Brazilian beauties to hit the modeling scene, but her timeless beauty and style helped distinguish her from the crowd. Alessandra Ambrossio decided early that she wanted to become a model.

 Pursuing he goal she entered into modeling classes at 14 where she honed the skills of her trade. At the tender age of 14 she entered Elite’s Look of the Year Contest. The contest led to lucrative contracts that secured her future as a model. Though she did not win, she was not overlooked and the event would launch her career.Alessandra garnered a contract with Elite and shortly thereafter Guess?. Alessandra’s exotic beauty quickly earned her a place on The Millennium Guess? campaign that helped to launch her into International fame.

Alessandra has also distinguished herself on the catwalk as well adding her sultry presence to shows by Laura Baguette, Christian Dior, Nicole Miller, Byblos, Kenzo, Oscar de la Renta and more. Her lean 114lb frame and graceful presence makes her a highly sought after by the leading designers, in Europe, and the Americas.

Alessandra’s career success was meteoric, but she appears to be firmly grounded despite fame. She has aspirations to go on to a university degree and has expressed interest in being a cardiologist. By all accounts the stunning beauty is devoted to her friends and family and enjoys spending time with them. She spends much of her time traveling the world, but remains loyal to her hometown of Erexim, which she calls her “little city”.
